Welcome to the 'Sumi-e' gallery!

All of these images are painted in the traditional Japanese style of Sumi-e.

Using a special ink called 'Sumi' and special brushes, the technique is mastered in the use of single fluid brush strokes onto 'Washi'(Japanese paper)

I also express myself in Japanese Calligraphy which is a form of written art (can be seen in this gallery 'Kana Poem') This method uses a similar brush touch as Sumi-e and I incorporate the writing in some of my silks also.
